The popular Leigh Francis TV series, which stars the comedian, has been known to have a number of puzzles in it, one of which is a series of letters in a grid.
There is a BBC production called “Sherlock” in which BBC One presenter Amanda Holden plays a consulting detective and BBC Comedy performer Leigh Francis plays a BBC One presenter who also appears in BBC shows. The series is shown on BBC One and BBC One HD.
Amanda Holden and Leigh Francis, the stars of the new BBC comedy, are big fans of the game series, Angry Birds. So much so that they’ve taken to using the game to promote their new series of puzzles for the BBC3 channel. It’s the first time Angry Birds has featured in a main storyline, and the game’s popularity is no doubt helped by the fact that it’s free, addictive and available on multiple platforms.

Amanda Holden’s new series, The Holden Girls: Mandy and Myrtle, has left fans perplexed, with Leigh Francis starring as the singer’s “nan,” Myrtle.
Amanda and Myrtle attempt to live together in this documentary-style series, with disastrous consequences.
Guest appearances by Ben Shephard and Catherine Tyldsley were also included in the first episode, although not everyone was pleased.
‘The Holden Girls, starring Amanda Holden and Leigh Francis, will make Mrs Brown’s Boys look like f**kin’ Chekov,’ one fan predicted.
Another person called it a “s**t Mrs Doubtfire starring Leigh Francis and Amanda Holden….’
‘I’m sorry, but the new program with Amanda Holden and her grandmother (aka Leigh Francis or Keith Lemon) has to be one of the worst,’ another said.
Others, on the other hand, have been won over by the strange program, with one commenting, “Absolutely enjoying #HoldenGirls already, bloody funny stuff.”
“Yeah, I’ve got a great show idea: have Leigh Francis play Amanda Holden’s grandmother. It’s comedic gold, and you can’t go wrong with it. It’s that or put James Corden on a deserted island for 60 days and call it Deadly 60? Oh, that’s already taken. Then it’s Amanda Holden.” https://t.co/76ZkYdubBv pic.twitter.com/hKC4HetBHn

Another added, ‘Absolutely howling at @AmandaHolden #theholdengirls.’
Others said it took them a while to realize Myrtle wasn’t Amanda’s grandmother, while others compared it to Leigh’s sketch show Bo’ Selecta, which ran from 2002 to 2009.
Bo’ Selecta was removed from All 4 earlier this year after Leigh apologized for portraying characters in blackface.
The comedian is also renowned for his work on Celebrity Juice, a show on which Amanda has appeared as a guest.
The show’s future, however, has lately been put into doubt.
‘They are as old as television if you think about it, we reinvent them, from ‘Shooting Stars’ through to ‘Celebrity Juice,’ they are nothing like the panel show of old,’ said ITV2 boss Paul Mortimer at the Edinburgh TV Festival.
Amanda Holden has more.
‘It’s one of those where the presenter welcomes you, you know what you’re in for, you’re introduced to this week’s panel, and then they wave goodbye and say, “See you next week.”
‘That’s ancient grammar, old language,’ says the narrator. It’s not the best approach to communicate with a younger audience. It also makes closed episodic material, such as that, more likely to be overlooked.’
All 4 has Mandy and Myrtle from the Holden Girls.
